So I recently bought the Sims for my Mac. I downloaded the TF skins for them, because I like crack and Optimus and Megs sharing a house is pretty cracktastic (and adorable) if you ask me. XD

Started by artoni, I only RP two characters, so it should be easy. Pick one of them, pick one of yours, give me a prompt. I'll attempt to write a short drabble, as long as my multitasking skills allow it.

I've always wondered why Megatron was the way he was. The idea that he was evil for the sake of being evil never made much sense to me, and it always diluted his character into that category of "mustache twirler". But there were moments in the G1 cartoon where Megs showed a different side of himself, a side that respected Optimus Prime, a side that was intelligent and cunning without being stupid. He was an enigma among 80's villains. No one ever really tried to explain him and over the years we caught a few glimpses of where he might have come from, but that was it.

IDW recently tackled the task with their mini comic, Megatron: Origins. I have to say, I am completely fascinated by this story. I never really gave much thought to Megs being some schmo-joe swinging an axe to make a living. The thought intrigues me.  It's different.  It's fresh.  It's interesting.  And it adds a whole new level to Meg's character.  I'm excited to see how IDW makes the transition from young Megs to the old Megs we all know and love. 

However, as much as I love IDW's story, it has a few flaws.  In the first two chapters, there's not a lot of insight as to what Megs is thinking.  The graphics can be kind of hard to follow as well, so a lot is left for speculation.

And speculate I have. 

This story has been niggling around in my head for awhile.  I was going to make it bigger, perhaps taking Megs from his earliest days in the mines to the point when he makes his first kill, but I decided that was way too much work and I'm lazy.  So I focused on the climax of the story, where Megatron steps away from the crowd of faces and takes matters into his own hands. 

I call it "Instinct".
